As you will be aware the LLB is a qualifying law degree. As we deliver the degree in accordance with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA), we have been in communication with them about our approach. The SRA have stated, “Qualifying Law Degree (QLD) and Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) students must be assessed, but we do not specify the form that the assessments must take.” The SRA does not need to or seek to approve the assessment form, but relies on the assurance that the assessment satisfies a university's own QA regulatory requirements. As things stand, and unless the SRA changes its position, we are confident that the approach to assessments meets the QLD requirements.
