Global Chums Mentoring Scheme

Questions, you’ll have lots of them to begin with. Setting up with a mentor can be the best way of settling into your course and life in Cornwall. The Global Chums Mentoring Scheme can help with that. You can also check them out on Facebook.

International students

International students

Our law and business degree programmes in Cornwall have attracted applicants from across the world. Students have joined us from Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Libya, Switzerland, and many other countries. Across our small, friendly Cornwall campus, there are over 1,000 international students - out of 5,000 students overall.

Our law with business programmes focus on globally transferable skills. Our English law degrees are recognized as satisfying part of the academic requirements for professional practice throughout the world (take a look at the list of common law countries to find out more).

LLB Law with Business is a practical course, whereas others are specifically theory based. A big reason for me not choosing Oxbridge. Lecturers are engaging and care a lot for their students, whilst always ready to give advice.

On campus, you never feel alone. You get to know everyone in your cohort meaning you will always know someone, or someone you know will know them. Maintaining closer friendships is far easier. Cornwall is also just a lovely place to be, as someone who grew up in a city it is nice to just slow down at the beach or go for a walk.

English, Society and Culture Module

We have developed a bespoke module for international students (entitled 'English, Society and Culture') together with our colleagues in the English for Academic Purposes teaching team. This runs over the course of the year. We also provide one-to-one sessions between students and their academic tutors, as well as core skills sessions which are embedded into the curriculum.
