LAW1701: Law Placement

This module descriptor refers to the 2022/3 academic year.

Module Aims

This non-credit bearing module aims to prepare you for the tasks and activities related to finding and securing a suitable placement for the third year of your degree. The combination of synchronous workshops and e-learning tasks focus on career exploration, self-awareness of personal strengths, searching and applying for placements, and interview technique.

On successfully completing the programme you will be able to:
Module-Specific Skills1. differentiate the employability skills (competencies) relevant to placements or graduate employment;
2. identify and critically reflect on personal experiences that demonstrate relevant employability skills.
Discipline-Specific Skills3. locate and interpret information sources to identify academic and employability skills development opportunities on your degree;
4. locate and interpret information sources to identify career options where a degree in your subject area is essential, desirable or useful.
Personal and Key Skills5. appraise the purpose and benefits of undertaking a placement;
6. locate appropriate services and resources to help with career planning and placement search.
