This research-led module is aimed at developing knowledge in the field of law, testimony and trauma. The module will concentrate on legal proceedings in the UK and around the world which addressed traumatic events that are related to social oppression (i.e., trauma related to, for example, racism, sexism, classism, homophobia and xenophobia). The module will analyse these legal responses and their significance to society through a series of lectures on the subject and through students’ individual research projects which will be worked on during seminars.
