Dr. Anil Singh Matoo is a Senior Lecturer in Law.

 

He has undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in both Philosophy and Law from Harvard University, the University of Cambridge, Birmingham City University, and the University of Birmingham. He completed his PhD in Law at the University of Birmingham. His thesis focused on Friedrich Nietzsche, John Locke, and the Supermax Prison. He has several peer-review publications in philosophy, theology, comparative literature, and law. He has presented nationally and internationally on topics within Jurisprudence and the philosophy of law.

 

He has held lectureships at the University of Bristol, the University of Birmingham, Birmingham City University, and City Law School. His undergraduate teaching areas are predominantly in Jurisprudence, Land Law, Contract Law. At LLM level, his teaching area centres on international human rights law.

 

Anil is currently in the process of writing a monograph focusing on Nietzsche and the Supermax Prison and an introductory textbook on how to study Jurisprudence. He is jointly writing on areas in Land Law.
