Hilal Çıbık
Postgraduate Researcher
The Law School
I graduated from Dokuz Eylul University Law School in 2015 and received my attorneyship certificate in 2017. After I practised for 2 years, I was awarded a scholarship from the Turkish Ministry of Education for LLM and PhD studies. I completed my LLM in International Law and Global Justice at The University of Sheffield, where I wrote my thesis on the Extension of Judicial Review in the UK and its Causes and Consequences. Following this, I practised as an attorney in Turkiye between 2019 and 2021.
In 2021, I began my PhD at the University of Exeter, under the supervision of Dr. David Barrett and Richard Edward. My research focuses on populism and its implications for the UK constitution, an area of growing importance. Alongside my doctoral studies, I am currently working as a Postgraduate Teaching Associate in the Constitutional and Administrative Law team.
