Professor Konstantinos Sergakis (He/Him)

Konstantinos Sergakis is Professor and Personal Chair in Law at the University of Exeter. He specialises in Corporate Law, Corporate Governance and Capital Markets.

He is Member (Alternate) of the Board of Appeal of the European Supervisory Authorities (European Banking Authority, European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, European Securities and Markets Authority) and Chairperson of the Oversight Committee (BPP OC) of the Best Practice Principles (BPP) Group.

Professor Sergakis has previously served as Professor of Capital Markets Law and Corporate Governance at the University of Glasgow and Lecturer in Law at the University of Bristol. He has held Visiting Professorships at the University of Aarhus, University of Alcalá, University of Liechtenstein, LUISS, Sciences-Po Lyon, University of Macerata, University of Trento and Global College of Law at UCLouvain. In 2024, he held the Peter Ellinger Visiting Professorship at the National University of Singapore.

He is a member of the UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellowships (UKRI FLF) programme Peer Review College.

He regularly delivers keynote speaches and participates in high-level events alongside EU Commissioners, former Prime Ministers/Ministers and policy makers, has been a regular speaker at the G7 Pensions Forum (organised by the World Pensions Council) and the Responsible Asset Owners Global Symposium, has delivered the 8^th Annual Paule Gauthier Lecture in Canada and a Plenary Speech at the Romanian Academy of Science. 

His research also regularly features in leading media platforms in various countries (e.g. Financial Times, Sole 24 Ore, De Tijd among others).
