Shenlin is a PhD student at the University of Exeter. Her research focuses on the legal regulation of domestic violence and abuse in England and Wales and China through the lens of family law. She is particularly interested in applying vulnerability theory to the study of domestic violence and abuse, aiming to enhance legal protections for marginalized groups of women. Her broader research interests include intimate relationships, culture, and social norms.

 

Shenlin obtained her LLB from Yantai University Law School in 2021 and obtained her master’s degree from North China Electric Power University in 2024. After completing her legal studies in China, she joined the University of Exeter to pursue a PhD in Law. In 2021, Shenlin obtained the Legal Professional Qualification Certificate and gained legal practice in a law firm.
