The Law School
Thomas holds an LLB in Law (2:1) and an LLM in Commercial Law from the University of Exeter. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Law at the University of Exeter. His doctoral research examines consumer claims against Big Tech companies, with a focus on the role of litigation funders in facilitating access to remedies through collective proceedings. His broader research interests include competition law, consumer protection, and private international law.
For his LLM dissertation, Thomas examined the UK’s framework for collective competition claims, focusing on the certification process used to decide whether cases can proceed. His research considered the strengths and weaknesses of the current approach, the impact of recent case law, and the wider implications for consumers seeking redress through collective actions.
