Postgraduate Researcher
The Law School
I am a PhD candidate at the University of Exeter Law School. My research examines algorithmic manipulation, behavioural exploitation, and consumer vulnerability in digital environments, using a comparative legal approach. I explore how algorithmic systems that personalise content and shape user experiences can influence individuals’ behaviour, and whether existing legal frameworks provide adequate protection in complex and rapidly evolving digital environments.
I hold a Master’s degree in Law from Brunel University London, where I studied specialist areas including data protection, internet law, international media law, intellectual property, corporate governance and sustainability, and international commercial law. My dissertation examined the adequacy of the GDPR in protecting users in the context of big tech and mass surveillance, which motivated my doctoral research into how digital environments and algorithmic systems affect consumers and how the law responds.
