Overview

Say H Goo is Professor and Director of The University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Law's Asian Institute of International Financial Law (AIIFL) and Japan and Korea Programme, and Deputy Director of HKU's Ronald Coase Centre for Property Rights Research (RCCPRR). A graduate of University of Leicester (LLB) and University of East Anglia (LLM), he joined HKU in 1995 after over five years of teaching at the University of East Anglia and the University of Exeter. Over the years, he has taught many subjects including Contract Law, Land Law, Company Law, Insolvency Law, Trust, and Corporate Governance. At HKU, he has also served as Deputy Head of Department of Law, Admissions Tutor, Founding Director of AIIFL and Founding Director of LLM (CFL) Programme.?

Say is currently a Co-Principal Investigator of a major (HK$15 million) HK RGC research grant project on Enhancing Hong Kong as an International Financial Centre, and has been a member of the HK Government's Standing Committee on Company Law Reform since January 2009. He is also a member of the International Advisory Board of the Centre for Corporate Law and Securities Regulation, University of Melbourne.

Research

Say specializes in Land and Real Estate Law, Company Law (particularly Corporate Governance and Shareholders Remedies), Corporate Insolvency, Securities Regulation, and aspects of Financial Law, and welcomes PhD supervision in these areas.
