Overview

Professor Panagos has joined the University of Exeter Law School as visiting professor as of January 2016, regularly contributing to the teaching of the Oil and Gas LLM module as well as acting as external examiner to PhD and giving staff seminars. At Exeter Law School he is liaising with Dr. Kyriaki Noussia and the Centre for Commercial and Corporate Law.

Research

Professor Panagos has a special interest in Energy Law and Hydrocarbons Law. He has published widely in the field of energy markets (electricity, natural gas and renewable energy sources) and hydrocarbons exploration and exploitation.

External impact and engagement

Professor Panagos has published six (6) monographies on energy issues, one (1) Kommentar (collective volume) on Public Contracts and more than twenty (20) publications. He has tutored more than fifty (50) dissertations and one (1) PhD (as external examiner at Exeter University Law School), hence has a wide experience both in supervising LLM theses and has acted as PhD examiner in VIVA VOCE exams.

Biography

Professor Panagos has been a lawyer since 1981 with a continuous practice. He is managing partner of “Panagos-Gouzoulis and Associates- PFG Law Firm”, Athens, (2006-today  www.pfglawfirm.com.) and legal consultant of various foreign companies. He served as consultant at the Greek Ministry for Development (2004-2005), Member of the Board of Directors (2004-2005) at Industrial Property Organization, Vice Chairman at Regulatory Authority for Energy (2005-10), member of the Board at National Council for Energy (2006-09). He is currently visiting professor at International Hellenic University, teaching EU Energy Law, Hydrocarbons Law and Cross Border Energy Trade (2010-today). He was Member of the Committee of the Open-Door Invitation for granting and using authorizations for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons (2012-13).

Professor Panagos is member of Athens Bar Association and the Society for the Development of Energy Law.
